Most of these artifacts were found in the animal pastures during the Intensive Survey. Prior to the 2011 Intensive Survey, this area of Yarmouth was a blank space with regards to Native occupation, no one had ever reported finding anything here so we had no idea what might be found. The Taylor Bray Farm is a beautiful and ideal locale for Native occupation- good soils, high and dry, reliable fresh water- so we predicted that there would be some evidence of Native occupation. We had no idea that what we would find would be as exciting as it was.
