This small plate was made in Montelupo, Italy in the late 17th century. From the 15th to the 17th century Montelupo pottery (known in the present day as Tuscan ceramics, Florentine majolica, or Florence pottery) was produced in one of the most important ceramic centers in Italy.
The distribution of the fragments of this very distinctive ceramic in both the cellar holes and around the hearth helps to support the idea that all three features were used simultaneously and do not represent temporally separate buildings.
