One George II halfpenny bearing a date of 1756 was found in the cellar hole at 110 cmbs in Fill Layer 2. The coin had moderate wear and was probably not in circulation for an extreme length of time. One lead jetton was also recovered from the cellar hole but at 40-50 cmbs. Jettons are believed to have been used as counting aids or possibly as wage tokens for laborers. The jetton was 3.3 cm in diameter and bore what were interpreted as natural scratches on its surfaces. The recovery of the jetton may indicate a higher degree than normal of money transaction by the occupants of the house, possibly due to merchant interests of the sale of agricultural surplus.
