These fragments of a Wheildon ware teapot in a molded cauliflower shape were found in the 18th century cellar of the Taylor house. Wheildon ware was the first of the “refined earthenwares” to reach the American markets (1740-1770)and was often made int he same molds used for white salt glazed stoneware. The cauliflower tea pot was probably made by Thomas Wheildon working with Josiah Wedgewood ca. 1760-1765.
